A convention for inclusivity, diversity, and curiosity, focused on creating connections and safe spaces for and between communities.
Creator Con is intended to be a crossover convention which includes aspects of maker festivals as well as furry and science fiction conventions. There will be a set number of tracks of programming to reflect these interests. The ideal Board will have many and varied experiences in helping the growth of various types of events, so as to come together and create something new for Toronto. The convention leadership should value creativity, diversity, curiosity, and fun.
This type of convention is not something currently offered in Toronto, and this would seek to emulate the roles of smaller conventions (sub-2000 attendees) in the combined fandoms. While there are furry conventions and events, anime conventions, comic conventions, and maker festivals, there is not something that attempts to bring people together in a way to spark crossover creativity. This convention seeks to expose similar fandoms to new horizons to broaden knowledge and promote learning.
A secondary goal to uniting community is that of raising funds for charities that support and assist diverse communities. Examples of groups to provide with a charitable donation via the convention include LGBT+, BIPOC, and neurodivergent support or aid groups.
